Carol Chapman

Carol Chapman has a long history of compassionate care in nonprofit and corporate environments. She worked in the human resource arena for Atlantic Richfield, Transamerica Finance, VRC Consulting Group and UniHealth Hospital Systems. Carol served her community as president of the City Of Hope fundraising chapter in Woodland Hills, Calif and volunteered as a tutor and mentor to children in the Los Angeles school district.


Leadership positions include president of the Sun City Anthem Women’s Club, chair of the Community Lifestyle and Editorial Content committees. Carol started the SCA  volunteer program to tutor Hinman Elementary School children and founded the SCA community library and book club.


Her interests in the arts led her to participate in the creation of the Arts and Crafts Club and Chicago Club of Sun City Anthem. She served on the resident negotiation team, working with Del Webb/Pulte to successfully revise the Anthem Community Master Plan. Her work volunteering for the Community Service group led her to championing the Foundation Assisting Seniors and Veterans since 2015.


Since joining the Foundation, Carol has served as Public Relations Chair, President in 2020 and President/CEO in 2023. Her time with the Foundation has been spent sharing the word on the services and support FASV provides to the senior and veteran communities in the Las Vegas valley.

Vicki Bertin

Vice President

A Las Vegas resident since 1971, Vicki Bertin has built a career rooted in leadership, entrepreneurship, and
community service. She began as an educator before transitioning into business, founding Answer Plus in 1987, a national call center specializing in medical clients. Under her leadership, Answer Plus was recognized as one of the best places to work in Las Vegas.


From 1994 to 1996, she served on the Board of Directors for the Association of TeleServices International (ATSI), contributing to industry advancements. In 2011, she was a top-three finalist for the prestigious Athena Leadership Award through the Henderson Women’s Chamber of Commerce, honoring her professional excellence, community impact, and mentorship of women.


In 2023, after personally benefiting from the services of the Foundation Assisting Seniors and Veterans, Vicki was inspired to give back. She began volunteering with the organization, and her dedication quickly led to her taking on the role of Office Manager. Recognizing her leadership and commitment, she joined the Board of Directors in 2024, where she has played a pivotal role in expanding the Foundation’s reach and impact.


With her deep commitment to community service and her extensive professional background, Vicki is dedicated to advancing The Foundation's mission of supporting seniors and veterans through compassionate assistance and impactful programs .

Ray Carvajal

Trustee

From manufacturing mannequins to playing a pivotal role in shaping the cable TV industry we know today, Ray has always been at the forefront of innovation. Beyond his entrepreneurial spirit, he has dedicated himself to serving the community in numerous ways.


A strong advocate for youth and neighborhood initiatives, Ray has been actively involved in youth soccer, the PTA, Neighborhood Watch, Spring Cleanup, and Paint the Town programs throughout Southern Nevada. His unwavering commitment to helping others has earned him recognition from the Jewish War Veterans of the USA and Neighbors Assisting Neighbors for his efforts in supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, the homeless, and veterans.


Ray is also the founder of Neighbors Assisting Neighbors (NAN), which has since become an integral part of
Community Assisting Seniors. As a member of the Veterans Association in Sun City Anthem, he remains a steadfast supporter of fellow veterans, always ready to lend a hand. Even today, he remains deeply involved in day-to-day operations at the Foundation Assisting Seniors and Veterans. He spends many days each week in the office, ensuring that medical equipment is properly organized, sanitized, and ready for use. His dedication extends beyond the office, as he frequently delivers equipment to those with urgent or last-minute needs, ensuring that no one goes without essential support.


Ray’s contributions continue to make a lasting impact, reflecting his lifelong commitment to innovation, service, and community betterment.

Kathleen Seager

Kathleen Seager is a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, where she raised her two sons and built a distinguished career in the hospitality industry. Over the years, she developed extensive experience in customer service, operations, and community outreach, working with a diverse range of people and organizations. Her ability to connect with individuals and understand their needs made her a trusted leader in her field.

Beyond her professional career, Kathleen has always been passionate about giving back to the community. As a former member of the Chamber of Commerce, she actively supported local businesses and initiatives that strengthened Las Vegas’s economic and social fabric. Her dedication to service led her to seek new opportunities to make a difference after retirement.


It was through this search for meaningful engagement that Kathleen discovered the Foundation Assisting Seniors and Veterans. Inspired by the foundation’s mission of equipment she knew she had found the perfect way to use her skills to help others. As a board member, Kathleen plays a key role in enhancing outreach efforts, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring the foundation continues to serve those in need efficiently and compassionately.


Kathleen’s commitment to service goes beyond the boardroom. She can often be seen personally delivering walkers or wheelchairs to those who need them, ensuring that seniors and veterans receive the support they deserve. She believes that dignity, respect, and accessibility to resources are essential for a thriving community. Through her work with The Foundation, she continues to make a lasting impact, helping individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Sophia Keithley

Sophia Keithley was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, before calling Las Vegas home for the past 24 years.
Over the course of her career, she has owned three businesses, which fueled her entrepreneurial spirit. She pursued her MBA through the Executive MBA program at UNLV, where a colleague introduced her to the Foundation Assisting Seniors and Veterans, aligning her professional drive with her personal values. Having grown up very close with her grandmother, who was both her caretaker and best friend, Sophia developed a deep passion for supporting the elderly.


Currently, Sophia works as the Director of Finance Transformation in the gaming industry. She’s been in the gaming industry in various roles for over 11 years. One of her greatest passions lies in transforming businesses by automating manual processes, challenging the status quo, and finding ways to make operations more efficient. This drive for innovation extends to her commitment to the foundation, where she combines her expertise and personal values to create lasting, positive change.

Barbara Rocklin

Barbara Rocklin was born in Florida and raised in Southern California. She pursued a teaching career while her
husband served in the Navy. After retirement, she was drawn to supporting veterans and moved to Taos, New
Mexico, before eventually settling in Henderson, Nevada, in 2020 to be near her five grandchildren. Barbara has volunteered in many capacities but considers her work with the Foundation Assisting Seniors and Veterans the most
rewarding. Her empathy and progressive ideas make her a positive and impactful board member, bringing insight,
compassion, and a forward-thinking approach that helps drive the foundation’s mission to support seniors and
veterans in meaningful ways.
